Facing mounting criticism from multiple corners, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius faces numerous calls from Obamacare critics and opponents to resign. During a CNN interview that aired last week, she refused to comment on whether she offered the President her resignation. The landscape for her departure and the confirmation of a replacement would be rocky at best. Moreover, her replacement would require Senate confirmation, a prospect that the White House and Obamacare abhor. The White House continues to voice support publicly for Secretary Sebelius and there are no reports that she or the President want her to leave.
