Plan to Start Drafting Farm Bill Next Week
After
three years of work, the Senate Agriculture Committee will finally begin
drafting the new farm bill next week; estimated to cost $500 billion. The
House unofficially plans to start writing its version of the bill on May 15. The farm bill will cover spending
for things ranging from food stamps to global food aid and biofuel
